What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve performance, and to provide information to the site owner. Categories we use

These cannot be turned off because the service will not work without them. No consent is required under the GDPR / ePrivacy Directive for strictly-necessary cookies.

• AnalyticsOff by default

  Help us understand which features are used and where users encounter friction, so we can improve the product. We rely on Google Analytics 4 in aggregate, IP-anonymised form; we do not send message content, prompts, or uploaded files to any analytics provider.

• MarketingOff by default

  Let us measure the reach of campaigns that brought you to geo.qa. If you reject this category, you will still see the site, but we cannot attribute your visit to a campaign.

Cookies we use

The table below lists every cookie and similar technology that may be set on your device when you use geo.qa, together with its provider, purpose, retention period, and category.

Durations are maximums. Cookies may be cleared earlier if you sign out, clear your browser data, or withdraw consent. Where a provider also sets subdomain variants (for example, _ga_* for additional GA4 properties), the same category and retention apply.

Third parties

Some cookies above are set by third-party services we use. Those third parties act as independent data controllers for the cookies they set, and their own privacy notices apply. We do not allow these providers to use data collected through geo.qa for their own independent marketing.

Your choices and how to withdraw consent

When you first visit geo.qa we show a consent banner. Optional categories (Analytics, Marketing) are set to denied by default and are only enabled if you explicitly accept them. You can change your decision at any time — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

• Use the Manage cookie preferences button on this page or in the footer to re-open the preferences dialog.
• We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information under US state privacy laws.
• You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

If you reject all optional categories, essential cookies will still be set because the service cannot function without them. Essential cookies do not require consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive.

Legal bases and your rights

Under the EU/UK GDPR we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for Analytics and Marketing cookies, and on our legitimate interest in providing the service (Article 6(1)(f)), together with the "strictly necessary" exemption in Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, for essential cookies. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; we do not sell personal information, and you can opt out of cross-context behavioural advertising by rejecting Marketing cookies or by enabling Global Privacy Control.

Children

geo.qa is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly set non-essential cookies for users we know to be under that age.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually and whenever we add or remove a cookie or third-party provider. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, ask you to renew your consent through the banner.
